Made for embroidery and detailed needlework, these compact Japanese thread snips have slim, pointed blades that make it easy to trim thread close to stitches and fine work.

At about 4 inches overall with a 1.4-inch blade, they are small enough to stay close to the work and easy to control when reaching into tight areas around embroidery.

What makes this little pair especially interesting is the steel. The blades are made with Yasuki Blue Super Steel, a Japanese high-carbon steel valued for hardness, wear resistance, and lasting cutting performance. It is an unusually serious blade material for such a small sewing tool.

At 1.6 oz, the snips are compact enough to keep beside an embroidery hoop or sewing project, ready for the small thread cuts that come up again and again.
