Japanese Thread Snips for Sewing – Forged Steel 6” – Pink
A 6-inch pair of pink Japanese thread snips is unusual enough. Finding one unused after around four decades in storage makes this pair something genuinely out of the ordinary.
The 150mm size is much larger than the compact thread snips commonly seen today, and the pink finish makes the difference even more obvious. At 6 inches overall with a 2.76-inch blade, there is noticeably more tool in the hand while the traditional spring-style form remains familiar.
Made from forged steel, these were produced as working sewing tools, not decorative pieces. They are still meant for the repeated thread trimming that comes with sewing, embroidery, quilting, and detailed handwork.
That working purpose is important. The appeal is not simply that these are old or unusual, but that an unused Japanese sewing tool can come out of decades of storage and return to the sewing table.
